On July 24th 2019, a driver struck and killed Alexis bounds while she was riding her bike. In 2020 we honored her with a memorial bike ride on Marion Street. Many residents have opposed any new bike infrastructure on this road wanting instead to "preserve" the historic context of the parkway.
In doing so they ignored the fact that the parkway used to be a dirt road with a ditch running down the middle. What they really want is to preserve their version of it despite it being a public place.
